Helen was a member of the congregation at Bethel Chapel in Clendennin. She loved her Lord, and enjoyed studying the Bible and related books so much so that she completed studies for the ministry of which she was very proud. While she had worked at various jobs through the years her strongest point was being a mother to her family. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph Norman Poissons; her son, Robert Skillin; and two infant sons Dennis and David.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son; Wayne Gerald Skillin, of New Hampshire; her daughters and sons-in-law, Grace Ida and Matthew Bendecchi, of Peterstown, W.Va., Robin Marsha Burroughs, of Berlin, N.H., and Gail Marie and Alan Pease, of Lindside, W.Va.; her 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; her brother, Frank Raymond of Tennessee; and her sister, Phyllis Worrell, of W.Va., and formerly of Rich Creek.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park at Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
