Greenwood SC, March 10 - Trapp Ouzts, 62, retired merchant and esteemed resident of Phoenix died Saturday night at his home after a long illness. He was a son of the late James Tolbert Ouzts and Mrs. Lula McManus Ouzts, both members of well known families of Greenwood County. For over 30 years he was in the mercantile business and for the past ten years he had been connected with the Merchant Fertilizer Co. of Charleston and also the Piedmont Fertilizer Co. of Greenwood. Mr. Ouzts was a faithful member of Damascus Baptist church having been a member of the board of deacons for many years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Effie Polatty Ouzts and the following children, Mrs. Claude Metts, Mrs. Caldwell Stallworth, Mrs. Wilson Henderson, Mrs. C. W. Powell, Miss Lilla Ouzts, all of Greenwood, one son, James T. Ouzts, Greenwood; four sisters, Mrs. J. P. Kemp, Mrs. A. L. Kemp, both of Edgefield, Mrs. J. L. Rush, Callison and Mrs. Pierce Partlow, Greenwood; two brothers, J. H. Ouzts, Greenwood, and Dr. W. H. Ouzts, Spartanburg and four grandchildren. Burial in the Damascus Baptist church cemetery.
