She then returned to Mediapolis, Iowa, and made her home with her mother, who died in 1938. Amelia, who had no children, died when nearly a century old at the Burlington Care Center in Burlington.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Burlington. She was also a member of Royal Neighbors, Hawkeye Natives and Senior Citizens.

Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Prugh's Chapel, Dr. Raymond Reed; Kossuth Cemetery.
