Andrew enlisted as a 20 yr. old resident of Cairo, Louisa Co., Ia. on July 1,1861 as 4th Corp. in Co. C, 5th Iowa Infantry. He re-enlisted Jan.5,1864, was consolidated Aug.8,1864 and transferred Sept.18,1864 to Co. G, 5th Iowa Cavalry. He was mustered out Aug.11,1865 at Nashville, Tn. He filed for an Invalid pension July 7,1880 and received certificate # 490.950.

Council Bluffs News - A. J. Lunbeck, a veteran of the civil war, died yesterday evening at his home at Thirteenth street and Fifteenth avenue, aged 69 years. Two daughters and one son survive him. Deceased was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic post at Taber, Ia. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence and burial will be in Walnut Hill cemetery. Rev. G. W. Snyder of St. John's English Lutheran church will conduct the services.
