Leo Leroy Allen, 80, beloved husband, father and grandfather, Lincoln, died peacefully at home June 30. Born in Lincoln to Ralph R. and Ruth (Kepner) Allen. Leo graduated from Diller High School and served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He graduated from UNL in 1959. He worked 35 yrs for Peel's (formerly Wickstrom's) Beauty Salon. His second career was as a para on LPS buses for 14 yrs.

Leo was active in Toastmasters #403 for 50 yrs; Pres. of NACM; a member of the Methodist Church for 67 yrs; a public speech instructor for Junior Achievement; and a volunteer delivering Meals on Wheels.

He is preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. He is survived by wife Betty; son Glenn (Becky Fillingham), Sharon, MA; daughter Jennifer Sutherland, Lincoln; granddaughters Clarissa and Emma; brothers Albert and Tom; and sisters Dorothy, Sandy, and Carol.

Cremation Memorial Service 10:30 am Tuesday, July 3, at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, 1144 M St., Pastor David Lux officiating. No flowers. In Lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to the family to be designated at a later date to Leo's favorite charities.
