|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
TVA used this cemetery to relocate several graves during the 1934 Norris Dam Grave Relocation Project. Turley was a prosperous mining town during the late 1800's to mid 1900's, but no longer exists. Located in the Royal Blue Wildlife Management Area, it is very hard to find unless you are familiar with the area. A guide may be needed. During hunting season, visitors who leave their vehicle while in one of these areas MUST wear 500 inches of bright orange. (Yes, even cemetery visitors! And the orange hat is mandatory.) The park rangers may fine those who don't. This is only during hunting season. Visitors should check with the Tennessee Forestry Division at (423) 562-7838.
