Several outdoor sets known as "Mixville," consisting of false-front buildings and boardwalks, sprang up around California during Hollywood's silent movie era. The most famous of these was on Glendale Boulevard on the former Winna Brown Ranch, and covered about 12 acres.
Unfortunately, today the area is a shopping center and there are no visible remnants of it's early history.
