|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The purchase of a cemetery for the Beth Jacob Synagogue was organized in about 1913 by Mandel Steinberg. Before establishing this local Jewish Orthodox cemetery, burials were done in Hamilton or Toronto. The first burial was that of a child in 1913.
The cemetery is fenced on all sides and the gate is kept locked. Visitors must obtain permission from the Beth Jacob Synagogue in Kitchener to enter.
Beth Jacob is an Orthodox cemetery. A section of nearby Parkview Cemetery in Waterloo is reserved for any Reform Jew and is open to non-Jewish spouses and children.
