|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This cemetery has had every marker in it photographed and attached to a findagrave monument. There are no markers left to photograph. If their marker is not listed in the cemetery interrment here it is one of the very few illegible markers or is non-existant. There are numerous unmarked graves in this place. To my knowledge, there is no complete cemetery census, although I am not 100% certain of that nor is there a plot map available, of which I am aware.
This cemetery is also known as "Woodward Cemetery." The name Montgomery Cemetery was derived from my interview with the people who live behind the cemetery, who state that "Montgomery" is the only name they have ever heard it referred to as. From my perspective, that makes sense, since the majority of legible markers are for the Montgomery Family. The interview also revealed that there are numerous people buried here who do not have a marker and have not, to the knowledge of the residents, been recorded elsewhere. They have been told that up to 200 persons are buried here.
