Located in north-west London by Newgate, founded in 1225, built on the gift of Joce Fitz Piers's property on Stinking Lane, destroyed in 1538 as part of King Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries, rebuilt in 1547 and destroyed the the Great Fire of 1666. The Merrill Lynch international building now stands on the site.
