Cemetery notes and/or description:
This cemetery had been earlier known as Nichols Cemetery #3 {so-named by The Jake & Bertha Savage Book on Greenup County, Kentucky Cemeteries}. As of approximately 2012 it is now officially named the CHINN-WURTS Cemetery as those are only names now known buried here. There are at least 9 burials remaining in this cemetery, only two of which are marked (John and Mary Chinn) All others have no visible markers.

The graveyard is quite small, and difficult to see from the road if it is overgrown, which is usually is. It is an approximately 25' x 25' plot about 30 yards north from the road as you face in direction of Ohio River. In 2015 it is noticeable as now surrounded by a new chain link fence. A small tree which used to serve as a marker has now been removed

The best way to get to it is to come out of Russell, Kentucky and get on "new" Route 23 and head North (towards Portsmouth, Ohio]. You will pass by signs for "Flatwoods", "Raceland" and "Worthington" Kentucky. The next town should be WURTLAND. Take that exit to your right and head north towards the Ohio River. It will lead you onto what the locals call "old Rt. 23". Turn to your left and head towards the center of Wurtland and you will be paralleling a railroad track on your right. You will eventually come to a steep grade road crossing over the railroad tracks on your right. It may or may not have a sign there for "Riverside Drive"/"Riverside Blvd." Cross over the railroad tracks, and bear to your right. On your left you will pass the "COCHRAN" cemetery and bear straight ahead at the intersection. Continue on until you come to POWELL lane on your right. The cemetery is about 50 yards past Powell Lane on your left near Cottage Court (North side towards the Ohio River). If the surrounding field is overgrown or planted with corn it will be difficult to see at first.
