Cemetery notes and/or description:
This cemetery is maintained by the town of Minisink, so a mowed road takes you to the quiet group of grave stones under some huge oak and hickory trees. Most of the markers are small slabs of stone without names. About 15 names were identified in 1930 by Wm J Coulter. In 2010 only about 12 are readable. Information provided by the Minisink Heritage Museum and Town of Minisink Historian Carol VanBuren after the cemetery was noted in August 2010.

I have been able to connect everyone in this cemetery to the Clark family in some way except the two DeKays and David Shorter. There is a hypothesis that Eleanor DeKay was actually Sarah Clark so the DeKays may be related too. That just leaves David Shorter as a mystery.

The only Clark that I have not connected is the child Peter. He could be the son of three possible male Clarks so we may never know this one's specific family. However he is buried close to his overall family.

I put together a spreadsheet showing the connections so if you are interested, email me.

The oldest burials are for James and Sara Clark. Everyone except those noted above was related to them. Sadly their grave markers are absent. Local lore relates that their stones were used in the foundation of the barn of aa later owner of the Clark farm. Another story is that their stones are part of the chimney of a nearby farm house.

What is sad is that I have counted over 50 markers in the area of the cemetery. So many names seem to be lost to time. There does not seem to be any other listing for this cemetery.
