Kembang Kuning (Yellow Flower) was founded in 1916 as a cemetery for the European population of Surabaya which was at that time part of the Dutch East Indies.
After the 2nd World War a war cemetery was established in the middle of Kembang Kuning where militairy personal and civilians who died during the war were interred.
Kembang Kuning is still being used today as a cemetery.
