Pittenger Cemetery is located on land originally owned by Henry Pittenger, a War of 1812 veteran, who is buried here.
Approximate location is the Southeast quarter Section 32, Township 27, Range 7E (Noble Township).
It is located on the west side of Old Indiana 15 about a half mile north of State Road 124. Many of the burials are unmarked and others were removed to Matlock Cemetery.
Burials were from 1853 - 1874, with records found for 22 interments. --SixDogTeam
Indiana Cemetery Locations, Volume 2, published by the Indiana Genealogical Society (01 April 2006), gives the primary cemetery name as Pittenger Cemetery.
The cemetery is listed in the Cemetery and Burial Grounds Registry of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and in the State Historical Architectural and Archaeological Research Database (SHAARD) with Cemetery Record Number CR-85-53 (Pittenger).
