|on Miller Church Road|
|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Jacob's Lutheran Church no longer stands and the cemetery has suffered badly with many broken and desecrated stones. There is incorrect information on the internet describing this as Miller's church which it never was. This most likely started because of it being on Miler Church Road, but Miller's Church has always stood at the other end of Miller's Church Road and has always been Mennonite or Dunker, Jacob's Church was always Lutheran until it was finally torn down. Known at times by locals as "Peace Chapel" the church sat essentially in the middle of a winding country road, just off of the North end off of the Leitersburg Pike (Route 60) between Hagerstown and Smithsburg, Maryland and Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. Miler's Church Road is essentially a loop off of the Leitersburg Pike and if you are headed North from Hagerstown you can either take the first sign on the left for Miller's Church Road and you will first pass Miller's Mennonite Church on the right and several miles further you will find Jacob's Cemetery on the right just as you make a sharp turn to the right. If you are only going to Jacob's you can continue North to the second sign for Miller's Church Road and turn left and after you cross a bridge you will find the cemetery on your left as you make a sharp left turn.
