|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This cemetery is located on Highway 163N about a mile from Rockbridge and south of Skaggs Creek. It is approximately 7 acres with an annex across 1049, which was bought from the Amy and Frank Miller estate in app. 1990. The originial cemtetery was started in the 1830's. There is one memorial dated 1850, which is found to be the only legible one in the "Old" part, which is in the south end. The burial plots are free in the orginial cemetery. There has to be a stone planted designiated who it belongs to. The old cemetery is about full. A shelder was built in 2000 by Isaac Miller. The cemetery is governed by a committee of 10 people. Donations cover the upkeep and perpetual fund. The cemetery is non-denomnational...anyone can be buried there. On 30th of May each year the cemetery committee has a little program, in which the Sec. of Committee reads the total contribution of the year and gives report. The comm. tries to have a local speaker, usually a descendent of someone buried there. Most of the burials have been people who live within 3 to 10 miles of the cemetery.
