***************************
This cemetery is located 1 miles North and 1 miles West of Elsmore Township on private property. The size is about 45 feet square.

The Ard Cemetery is located on the David Ard claim that was sold to a nephew James Ard, and sold again to his brother, Jacob C. Ard, and then lost to the railroad because the claim could not be proven.
Those buried here were descendents of Reuben Ard, who was born April 14, 1769, Anson County, North Carolina and died January 1, 1845 in Morgan County, Missouri. He was married to Elizabeth Lefever(re) in 1798. She was born July 14, 1776 in Virginia, and died August 31, 1842 in Morgan County, Missouri.

The first burial was David Ard, born in 1814 and died in 1862.
