|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
In October 2001, William and Marie Selby were reinterred in front of their beloved 1920s Spanish style home on the grounds of today's Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. They both lived here until their deaths. A memorial waterfall fountain marks the spot where they're buried. They were originally interred at Manasota Memorial Park in Bradenton, (Manatee County) Florida.
According to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens website... www.selby.org under 'Get Involved' and 'Memorial,' if a person or family wants the Gardens to be their loved one's final resting place, the Garden's Director of Horticulture will choose an appropriate place, and the family will be notified when the process is complete. A tax-deductible donation fee is required. Please note: cremains will be distributed at the Gardens' discretion, and not as part of a memorial service.
