Spring Greene Burial Ground
Also known as: Rhode Island Historical Cemetery Warwick #58
Spring Green Road
Warwick
Kent County
Rhode Island  USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:
Cemetery is located 300 ft. north of 566 Spring Green Road. There are 12 burials with 11 inscribed slate stones and one fieldstone. According to John E. Sterling in his book on Warwick historical cemeteries, the fieldstone marks the grave of an unknown Portugese sailor who was buried there when he died of small pox while on board a ship and could not be carried into the port of Providence.

The stones for Maj. John and Ann (Almy) Greene, Richard and Elinor (Sayles) Greene were carved by John Stevens I of Newport. They all have classic skull with wings design on both head and foot stones. The remainder of the stones were carved by either Stephen Hartshorn or Henry Emmes.
