Means Family Cemetery
Granville (Mifflin County)
Mifflin County
Pennsylvania  USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:
From "The Means Family" Page 6, 1970:

Robert Means married Nancy Kelly. They had three sons appearing in Rev. Archives: John, Robert, James.

They came to Mifflin Co. in 1770, acquired 200 acres 4 May 1773, later two more tracts.

On Page 30 - A picture taken in 1932 clearly shows the following 2 stones:

In Memory of Robert Means, a soldier of the Revolution, who died July 15, 1837, aged 87 years.

In Memory of Mrs. Hannah Means, consort of Robert Means, who died April 3, 1839.

There is a large slab in the Church Hill Presbyterian Cemetery in Reedsville inscribed to the memory of Robert and Nancy Means.

It is reported that many years ago, the Means stones noted above, were removed by "someone who lived in Ohio."

This cemetery is on a high bank of a creek, NE and immediately adjacent to a bridge, along a lane to (former) Laughlin farm. Within memory of persons now living (1978), this cemetery had stones about equivalent in number (30) to those on the Aurand-Cever cemetery on adjacent farm.

There are now four stones in this cemetery: 1 Moore, 2 Filson and 1 buried in the ground.
