|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
NOTE: This is on PRIVATE PROPERTY and the landowner should be contacted before you attempt to visit the cemetery. It is in a cow pasture and improper closing of the gate could result in cows running free!
This small cemetery is the resting place of Captain James Kell and some of his descendents. Many graves are simply marked with fieldstones.
Located in Ellijay on the east side of Boardtown Road, about two miles north of SR 2/52 and a quarter mile south of Old Flat Branch Road. An old Kell cabin sits on the corner of Old Flat Branch and Boardtown - a sign above the door reads "Kell Creek Farm".
There is a dirt road going uphill to a steel gate leading into the pasture (close it behind you!) To the right (south) is pasture and to the left is woods. After following the tree line and dirt path, the cemetery is located on a hill in the woods, fronted by a white fence.
