|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
On the MAP tab, the cemetery location is indicated correctly on the map view but IS NOT CORRECT on the satellite view, because of misalignment between the two modes. Look for basketball courts for matching location.
The New International Cemetery, also called the German Cemetery because it was under the jurisdiction of the German contingent, was opened some time in 1910; presumably because the Old International was full. It served the foreign communities of Hankow, Wuchang, and Hanchang (now under the single name Wuhan).
The New Cemetery was handed over to the local Land Bureau in March of 1954; and the Old Cemetery was "relocated" to Hanyang. The date that the New Cemetery was destroyed is not known.
See "Cemetery Map", for an historical view.
