|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
aka Couvent des Cordelières de l'église de Sainte-Claire l'Ourcine or Cordelières du Faubourg Saint-Marcel.
Convent of the Poor Clares, not to be confused with the Couvent des Cordeliers, that was dedicated to St Francis of Assisi.
Founded in 1270 by Blanche de France and her mother Marguerite de Provence in the Faubourg St Marcel. The convent was secularized in 1790 and was later used as an orphanage and hospital for beggars. After 1863 it finally became a hospital under the name Hôpital de Lourcine. In 1892 it received the name of the Dr Paul Broca. This hospital was pulled down in 1973 and newly rebuilt. Only one wall of the former refectory remained on the grounds of the Hôspital Broca until today.
