|Bush Mill Road (Township Road 95)|
Postal Code: 45628
|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This cemetery is located on the south side of Bushmill Road about 1 mile west of it's junction with Egypt Pike and about 1-1/4 miles west of the village of Greenland. In 1875, farms one-third mile southeast owned by Clark families, the probable source of the cemetery's name. However, the cemetery was later located on the farm of Samuel Day, which is probaly why someone gave this cemetery an AKA of the Day Cemetery, but I am told that this cemetery has never been called the "Day Cemetery" locally.
The cemetery is in poor condition with many stones down.
The Day Cemetery in Austin is not the same cemetery as the Old Clark Cemetery. The AKA above has caused a great deal of confusion.
THE OTHER CORRECT DAY CEMETERY:
The real Ross County Day Cemetery is at the the Stenson farm on Goodhope road 1/4 mile east of Sever Rd between Austin, Oh and Goodhope, Oh. There is no sign for that cemetery just the family name Stenson Farm. The Stensons have lived there 30 + years. Its on top of the hill behind the barn in a few trees. It is not the same cemetery as this one.
On line records for the Day Cemetery indicate who is buried in the Day Cemetery.
The cemetery is located in Concord Township, Ross County, Ohio, and is # 10376 (Old Clark Farm Cemetery / Greenland Cemetery) in “Ohio Cemeteries 1803-2003”, compiled by the Ohio Genealogical Society.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) feature ID for the cemetery is 1963459 (Clark Cemetery).
