|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Thionville French National Cemetery is on the west side of the town, adjoining the communal cemetery. The three Commonwealth war graves are in the south-west corner.
The cemetery was made by the Germans as an extension of the garrison cemetery. It contains the graves of 160 French, 1553 Allied and 704 German soldiers, and an ossuary with 85 bodies; the majority of these soldiers died in hospital at Thionville. Among the Allied graves are three Commonwealth burials of the First World War.
