|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This family cemetery is located to the left of the gravel driveway of the mobile home at 2236 Collings Hill Road, Lebanon Junction, Bullitt County, KY. It is difficult to see from Collings Hill Road, since it is uphill from the road and surrounded by many trees. I drove up and down this road many times in the spring and fall trying to locate the site, but was not able to see the stone wall surrounding the cemetery until the leaves had all fallen off the trees.
There is a stone wall about three feet in height surrounding most of the graves in this cemetery for COLLINGS, STARK, MAYFIELD and SHAWLER surnames. There is one stone for Jacob ROADS, who was adopted into the HORNBECK family. There is also a stone for Melvina ANDERSON, whose maiden name was STARK.
The stones on the outside of the walled-off area are those of WELKER, VAN VACTOR and DEATS surnames.
The entire area is surrounded by three lines of barbed wire fencing.
There are many dogs in the area, so if you visit this cemetery, be careful. If they are loose, the stone wall and barbed fencing will not keep out a dog determined to protect its home ground. I tried knocking on the door of the mobile home the day I recorded this cemetery, but there was no answer. Thankfully, all the dogs were penned up that time.
