|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Oak Grove Cemetery is in unincorporated, Wasola. It is very close to the Post Office and has a road that loops around it, right next to Road 129 (which runs right next to Highway 5/Route 95 in Wasola). From an aerial view, one can see that some grave markers are inside the loop and some are outside the loop.
It was originally named the Shelton Cemetery. The land was donated by three families who owned adjoining farms. Two of the families were named Shelton; so the cemetery was named for them. The first person buried there was Elizabeth Howe on May 17, 1886; and 31 of the graves are marked by rocks.
