|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The FRANCONIA CEMETERY is located off Lawrence Creek Rd at 297th St, east of MN Hwy 95 near its intersection with US Hwy 8. This dirt road looks like a private drive but leads to the secluded cemetery entrance.
The town of Franconia was a busy industrial center in the late 19th century. The town faded in its glory when the railroad bypassed and laid tracks to Taylors Falls instead.
Burials are primarily Swedish, although many prominent "East Coast" families and their descendants who pioneered the lumber and milling industries will be found here.
