Cemetery notes and/or description:
Bacon Cemetery sat south of Leora on Hwy M, on the Widow Bacon's (Mary Hinkle Clodfelter Bacon) place. Now destroyed, the only remaining stone (Mary Hinkle Clodfelter Bacon with 4 of her grandchildren) was found behind a barn & rescued by great granddaughter Mary (Bacon) Tucker. The stone was then moved to the Charlie & Mary Tucker residence on Hwy AB 2 Miles off of Hwy 25. Recently the stone was moved to Zion Cemetery on County Road 237 just off Hwy PP. It sits on north end of the cemetery in row 4 next to her grandson William Ray Bacon & near her son William A. Bacon. |
