Cemetery notes and/or description:
The church's mailing address is Richfield (Stanly Co), but the physical location is several miles north in Rowan County, at the intersection of Richfield Road (SR 1005) and Stokes Ferry Road (SR 1004).

Luther's Lutheran Church, also called "Piney Woods Church," is in Morgan Township, southeastern Rowan County, about three miles west of the Yadkin River at the corner of Stokes Ferry and Richfield roads. The actual date of organization of Luther's Church is not known, but the church is mentioned in the 1828 minutes of the NC Synod. The first pastor was Rev Scherer. The date of completion of the first church is not know, but it was a log structure located between the present church and the road. The second structure, a frame building, was dedicated on September 7, 1883. The third building, which was also a frame structure was started in 1910. This building was dedicated on April 25, 1914. Unfortunately, this building was destoyed by fire on July 22, 1930. The fourth building, constructed of brick was dedicated in 1931.
