|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Beginning in a bush-arbor the church was organized August 4, 1930.
Charter members include: Mr. and Mrs. Joe W. Morris, Miss Lessie Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hulsey. Mrs. Mobley and Mr. Andrew Sauls.
The Reverend Collier Roberts served as the first pastor. Joe W. Morris, Andrew Sauls and Junior Alford were the first deacons and Mrs. M.F. Box was the first Sunday School superintendent.
The original church was built upon land donated by Mr. M.S. Jones, Jr., a sawmill and lumber dealer, from whence the church takes its name. In addition to the land Mr. Jones aided greatly in the financial affairs of the church.
The current church is on land approximately half a mile from the original building. This building was finished in October of 1964. Enough acreage was purchased that the cemetery was also established at that time. The first burial in the cemetery was Van Juan Reeves in 1964.
