|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The priory of Dartford was the only house of Dominican nuns, or 'Sisters of the Order of St. Augustine' in England. Also called the monastery of St. Mary and St. Margaret, it was initially endowed by Edward III. Following the dissolution of the monasteries, Dartford Priory was chosen by Henry VIII as the site to build a Royal Manor House. Anne of Cleves was given it as part of her divorce settlement. Nothing of the original buildings survive, while only the Gatehouse remains of the Manor.
