Driving directions: Drive south on Highway 17 from Chocowinity, NC for 3.3 miles to State Road 1152 and turn left. Drive 0.1 mile to State Road 1134 and turn right. Drive 0.6 mile to a lane and turn left. Follow this lane through overgrown fields, continue on to the left of a house and between farm buildings, to more fields; all about 0.7 mile to the cemetery. It is best visited during the winter months, as it is completely surrounded by corn fields during the growing months.
This cemetery had been recently cleaned when visited in January 2010. According to the records at the Beaufort County Library, the cemetery used to encompass a larger area, but was reduced by plowing around it over the years. There are many unmarked graves. And in 1985, when the information was recorded, there was one large wooden headboard that had been burned, which indicated there had been other wooden markers destroyed by fire.
