|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Dulin-Keene Cemetery is located on land purchased by John Dulin shortly after his mother died in Kentucky and he inherited his share of her estate. John and Rebecca owned the land until the estate was settled following Rebecca's death. It now sits in the center of a sub-division canned "The Cascades".
This was the family grave-yard. Only three stones remain, those of Newton Keene, Elizabeth Dulin Keene, and Elizabeth Dulin Keene Kinney. However there is much evidence that a number of other graves are there. In fact, in the 1920's when my great-aunt was researching the Dulin family, she and her cousin, Alevia Keene exchanged letters discussing where John and Rebecca were buried. Alevia replied 'about five miles from here' (Alevia was living at Green Plains, Newton and Elizabeth Dulin's home), which would be about where this cemetery sits.
For the above reasons I have added three family members to this site. I am sure they are buried here. There simply is no other place where they would have buried other than on the 'family farm'. I have added John and Rebecca Elgin Dulin, and Ann Moriah Keene, the only member of Newton and Elizabeth Dulin Keene's family that did not live beyond childhood.
Thanks to Rosa Farquhar, a direct descendent, who made sure the cemetery was protected during the time the subdivision was being built. Fencing was provided to protect it after the subdivision was finished.
