Cemetery notes and/or description: Just east of the Village of East St Johnsbury, town of St Johnsbury. The name "Pine Grove" was officially changed to "Grove" nearly 100 yrs ago when the pines there were cut down. It is also sometimes called "Forest Grove" because that is the name of the cemetery association formed in 1857. The "Old Burial Ground" was on the slope of the hill as one enters the village from St Johnsbury village; removals from this spot to the new grounds were immediately made. There is a good water supply brought down from a spring about a half mile distant.
