To reach the cemetery from Chipley go south on Highway 77 about 24 miles, cemetery is on right just south of the intersection of highway 77 and state road 279.
The Dykes Cemetery land was donated to the town of Greenhead by G. W. Dykes. The land was made into a cemetery after John David Dykes was lynched. On Apr 15, 1916, Greenhead postmaster, John David Dykes, was lynched by a mob and then buried on the land.
