During certain periods of its history, few if any burial records are know to exist.
The earliest grave is dated 1873, but this burial might have been relocated from its original interment. The earliest burials were probably in 1889 or 1890.
The current cemetery consists of the joining together, through the decades, of several early, adjacent cemeteries.
The upper portion was originally named the Heaton Cemetery or the Pioneer Cemetery and was put under the control of the Paso Robles public cemetery district in the year 1945.
The southern portion was called the Catholic Cemetery or the Holy Cross Cemetery, which was given to the control of the Paso Robles public cemetery district in 1942.
Another portion of the current cemetery was earlier administered by the IOOF or Odd Fellows, until 1937 when this area was put under public administration in the Paso Robles Cemetery District.
