|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Family lore has it that Meredith Crawford McAlister, at some time point well past the age of 80 walked to the edge of the woods and marked three trees. He advised he wished to be buried there, between them. (What was then the edge of the woods/field is now grown up, all woods)
He is thus buried in the woods in the so called "McAlister Cemetery" near "Welcome Home" Arkansas not far from Hector and Appleton. There is one other grave near him of a small baby/child marked with a small stone and no writing. Further research needs to be done.
Only a few yards south of his grave and across the boundary of the Ozark National forest and stone wall is a very recent stone of a local family, relatives of whom own this side of the property and I shall not name to protect their privacy. Access from the National Forest property is of course allowed. McAlister family members are usually and I may add, cheerfully given permission to use the un-named family's property to get to Crawford's grave. And always have been. To T.C. I gave a great deal of thanks for his generosity.
I have purposely not included a map out of respect for folks living nearby who get understandable suspicious or anxious of strange cars in this secluded area. Although the location is no real secret to many locals and others.
