Clunastic monastic house, founded in 1103 by Roger Bigod, the 1st Earl of Norfolk, dedicated to "Our Lady." It is said the Virgin Mary appeared in a vision to the locals requesting the addtion of a chapel to the construction. One of the most important East Anglian monasteries, it fell to the Dissolution even though King Henry's son, Henry FitzRoy was buried there.
