|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The cemetery was used for the people of Hudson County who had no one to pay for their funeral. It is believed the burial grounds were in use from 1880 until 1962. Many burials were from the poor house and mental hospital located near the grounds. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority needed to excavate a portion of the grounds to build an interchange. On October 24, 2004, the remains from Hudson County Burial Ground (aka Secaucus Potters Field or Snake Hill Cemetery) were reinterred in Maple Grove Park Cemetery in Hackensack, NJ.
