|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Frenchtown Cemetery is on the south side of Frenchtown Road in the township of Montrose. Sometimes the cemetery is referred to as: St. Raphael's Frenchtown Cemetery. During the mid 1870's, Eugene Pernot offered an acre of land for the cemetery. Bodies of early pioneers that were buried in the Belleville Cemetery were moved to the new cemetery in the late 1870's. The remains of many of the early French pioneers were placed in a common grave along the west edge of the cemetery. A Dane County historical marker is at the main entrance to the cemetery.
