|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
In 1874, Linville United Methodist Church was built on land donated by Allen Conley. The church has been challenged over the years by the building of Lake James, dropping enrollment, and a plan to close the church altogether. Faithful members, however, have met the challenges and kept the church going to the present day.
Some of the tombstones predate the church because of graves being moved from family cemeteries when Lake James was built. The entire McGimsey cemetery was moved from the lake's shore.
