John Milton Howard Cemetery
Also known as: Howard Plantation Cemetery
Greenville County
South Carolina  USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:

Take I-385 to the Georgia Road/Simpsonville Exit. Head east on Curtis Street, crossing over Main Street, to Fowler Road and turn right. Turn right again on Sunshine Drive. Continue down Sunshine Drive to the end of the street and make a hairpin left turn onto a dirt driveway. The cemetery is in a thicket of woods a few feet up and to the left. The only grave marker that can be easily read now is the Revolutionary War stone of John Howard.

The owners of the property live in the last house on the left side of the street at 147 Sunshine Drive.

The cemetery has a number of hand chiseled stones that are almost impossible to read, and some graves are marked just by stones. The stones may have been marked and wore down over the years.

We did rubbings of some of the stones (using pelon cloth and a puck) in order to read the grave stones.
