|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Weavers Cemetery is a large, open cemetery located approximately 5.0 miles north of Brewton, Alabama, on Escambia Hwy-49, in T-3-N, R-9-E, Section 31. There are two Weaver cemeteries in Escambia County, one to the north (above) and the Weaver Family Cemetery to the east of East Brewton. The two cemeteries are often confused, but are not related.
The Weavers is divided by service roads into three primary sections. If visiting a grave site in sections one or two, enter the cemetery from the north at the Macedonia Church. If visiting a grave in section three (lower east side) enter the cemetery from the south entrance. There will be a large sign at roadside. The Macedonia Church will also be on the east side of the highway at the north end of the cemetery. There is no relation between the small church and the cemetery.
To reach Weavers Cemetery from Brewton, drive north on Hwy-49 (also known as Appleton Road) toward the Interstate and the community of Appleton. The Cemetery will be on the right at the top of a gently sloped hillside.
To reach the cemetery from I-65, exit 71 from either north or southbound. At the Wallace/Appleton crossroad (also known as Lowery's Landing), turn left (east) and drive about 3.0 miles to the junction with Hwy-49. Turn right and travel south toward Brewton. At a distance of about 6.5 miles the cemetery will be on the left.
