|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Gallows Hill cemetery is located along US Route 7 south of New Milford, CT and crosses the town line between New Milford and Brookfield, thus is 'shared' by both towns. This is a very old cemetery and is in poor condition. The town of New Milford provides some maintenance via the intervention of the Youth Agency which picks up fallen branches and mows the cemetery once or twice a year.
Surprisingly, although the founding father's of New Milford were the Noble family, there is only one plot of 4 graves belonging to the Noble family. The Noble homestead, a fine red brick colonial house is locate directly across Route 7 from the cemetery.
