|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The name of this historic pioneer cemetery was derived from two prominent hills rising from the prairies of Indian Territory in the 1880s. A gentleman affectionately referred to by the locals as "Uncle Dump" Berryhill is attributed with donating five acres of land to establish these pre-statehood burial grounds in what today is known as Glenpool, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. Twin Mounds Pioneer Cemetery is situated on the eastside of South 33rd West Avenue between 161st Street South and 171st Street South. South 33rd West Avenue (also known as County Line Road) runs north and south and is the north/south dividing line between Creek and Tulsa Counties. The cemetery is about 1-1/2 miles southwest of Glenpool, a town rich in early Oklahoma history.
