ALSO SEE NEW HOPE OR ENON CEM, WAYNE CO, MS ON FINDAGRAVE. I HAVE ALWAYS KNOWN THIS CEM AS HOLCOMB CEM. I now have discovered the sign that said ENON CEMETERY IS GONE- BUT THE METAL POLE IT WAS ON IS THIS THERE NOV 2012. This is an abandoned cemetery, Wayne Hunting Club Rd. 10 graves are headstones with names. The Holcomb Family Plot (enclosed with cement coping) has 10 graves. ROW 1:starts near entrance (only parking area), with only 2 unmarked graves. ROW 2: 17 unmarked graves. ROW 3: 15 unmarked graves, one is a pile of bricks. Two graves extend into the wood line. ROW 4: 17 total with 2 marked (Isaac J G McKee & James I McKee). ROW 5: 11 total graves with the following marked- JF & WR McKee double marker, Ellen McKee, Dolly McKee, Singley. ROW 6: total 9 graves with the following marked- Elmo Covington, Edney Erad Covington (Key), and Mary E Jones. ROW 7: total 6 unmarked graves. Complete total=82 graves, 10 of which are in Holcomb Family Plot and 10 of which are marked with headstone. Nov 2012. New info per interviews & old map searches reveal Enon Church was 1855 & 1868 for sure. Hebron Meth Church history was it started as Enon. Current Hebron Church located on land it was given 1898. Sometime between 1868-1898, Enon became Hebron Church & was moved to it's present location. This is why Holcomb burials stopped at Enon & started at Hebron Church. The Holcomb Cem in Wayne Co History Bk just says 2 miles E of East Shady Grove Church. I think that is what folks are calling Enon Cem. also. As far as calling it New Hope Cem., New Hope Cem. was located in Sect 17, T9, R 7- West King/Yellow Creek community area.
