Cemetery notes and/or description:
Elmhurst Cemetery was established in 1858 through a cooperative arrangement between the Trinity and St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Churches. It includes former German Lutheran Cemetery, also known as the Orchard Street Cemetery, which was also owned by the Trinity Lutheran Church. A fire in 1890 destroyed the early records, the same year that the name was officially changed to Elmhurst.
