|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church was organized in 1884 in Monroe County, Frisco City Alabama. The Church building, which also was built in 1884, still stands. It was built with wood milled locally when Frisco City was called Jones Mill.
Each of the backs and seats of the pews in the church are made from single enormous, beautifully planed local pine logs. The first Elder and organizer of the Church was Burney Sawyer, who is interred in the Shiloh Cemetery.
The Church is being preserved and gradually restored by dedicated volunteers headed by Mrs.Dorothy Sims, prominent Monroe County citizen and former mayor of Frisco City. Mrs. Sims is Elder Burney Sawyer's granddaughter. Gwynn is Elder Sawyer's great granddaughter.
This is currently an active cemetery. In June of 2008,Shiloh was placed on the Alabama Historic Cemetery Register.
