Founded in 1785, the current structure built in 1842 typifies 19th century rural church architecture. It was originally the site of an early Indian burial ground and later a community schoolhouse from 1809 to 1840. The stained glass windows recognizing Boonton Township settlers and the cupola were installed in 1930.
